  65. Macintosh Centris™ Computer

  68. all NuBus Macintosh Computers

  70.    SAN JOSE, Calif., February 9, 1993 -- Radius Inc. (NASDAQ-RDUS) today
  71. announced two new PrecisionColor interfaces for Apple Macintosh® computers that
  72. provide fully featured graphics display functions in a 7-inch NuBus-sized card.
  73. The new cards provide full 24-bit video and graphics acceleration at a variety
  74. of resolutions and are the first to conform to the 7-inch NuBus form factor
  75. first used on the Macintosh Centris 610 computer system from Apple Computer,
  76. Inc..
  77. This new space saving form factor requires a smaller NuBus card than any of
  78. those currently on the marketplace.  Radius' new PrecisionColor interfaces also
  79. use less power and produce less heat than conventional cards.
  80.    "Apple continues to innovate computer platforms with the introduction of new
  81. machines including the Macintosh Centris 610, which requires a smaller NuBus
  82. card size," said Mary Coleman, Radius vice president of marketing.  "Our
  83. advanced ASIC design has allowed us to pack all the performance of an
  84. accelerated 24-bit video card into this new form factor, delivering
  85. photrealistic display capabilities to users of both current and future Apple
  86. systems.  These new interfaces save space within the computer, require less
  87. power for operation and run cooler than any other card available with their
  88. capabilities."

  91.    • 24-Bit Color  Displays up to 16.7 million colors on-screen for stunning
  92. photo-realistic                  images.

  94.    • Complete NuBus Compatibility  The PrecisionColor boards work with all Appl
  95. Macintosh, Macintosh Quadra™, and Macintosh Centris™ computers with NuBus
  96. expansion capability.

  98.    • Instant Resolution Changing  "On-the-fly" resolution switching allows
  99. 640x480 detail or 1152x870, 2-page viewing with a single mouse click.

  101.    • Universally Compatible  Support for virtually any 14-inch to 21-inch monit
  102. at    resolutions ranging from 640x480 to 1152x870 with minimum screen flicker
  103. and highest quality image.

  105.    • On-Board Acceleration  Custom ASIC circuitry accelerates commonly used
  106. QuickDraw™ functions to enhance screen performance many times over
  107. non-accelerated graphics boards.

  109.    • System Performance Acceleration  Provides major system performance
  110. improvements when used in tandem with the Radius Rocket accelerator by
  111. providing display-list processing, CPU and graphics acceleration, as well as
  112. QuickDraw acceleration.

  115.    The PrecisionColor interface cards are scheduled to be available starting
  116. March 1, 1993.  The PrecisionColor 24X/1152, which provides display resolutions
  117. of up to 1152x870 carries a U.S. list price of $1849, while the PrecisionColor
  118. 24XK/1024, supporting resolutions of up to 1024x768, has a U.S. list price of
  119. $999.
